Summary: AMG-Danbury is actively seeking a hands-on Electroforming Technician to join our team. 

The Electroforming Technician will primarily set up and maintain electroforming production equipment in the shop and participate in production activities.   

Responsibilities:

Some of typical duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Set and maintain electroforming equipment according to prints and work instructions
• Measure, mark and mask areas to be excluded from plating as indicated in work order or drawing
• Maintain on-going communication with co-workers and supervisors regarding projects, problems incurred, etc.
• Assist in continuous improvement efforts to improve on-time delivery, quality, productivity elimination of waste and 6S compliance
• Comply with all Corporate, Federal, State and Local, Quality, Environmental Health & Safety policies, regulations and standards

Responsibilities:  Some of typical duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Observe & follow all safety policies and procedures in compliance with the organizational rules, while seeking continuous improvement. Responsible for his/her safety as well as that of his/her colleagues.
• Use abrasives, sanders, air tools to grind, polish and/or finishes various sizes of primarily nickel parts to product specification.
• Read blueprints, work orders, or machining instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences.
• Supports all job functions by being cross trained in each area.
• Familiarity with ISO and AS9100 standards and requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Experience in the use of power tools such as electric or pneumatic grinders, buffing wheels, stroke sanders, and other methods of metal finishing are preferred. Able to follow quality standards on a consistent basis. Attentiveness, focus, strength, and stamina are key traits needed for this process.

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support our Electroforming Manufacturing operations at our Danbury, Connecticut facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, process optimization, and precision manufacturing. This role will focus on optimizing electroforming processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to meet the stringent demands of the Aerospace & Defense industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process Optimization
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to improve mandrel performance for repeatability, accuracy, and cost efficiency.
  • Implement best practices for mandrel maintenance, preparation, and handling to extend service life and enhance electroforming yields.
• Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze, develop, and implement process enhancements to optimize manufacturing efficiency, reduce defects, and improve electroforming cycle times.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 6S, root cause analysis, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies.
• Technical Support & Troubleshooting
  • Provide hands-on engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve process and equipment-related issues in electroforming production.
  • Work closely with operators and technicians to optimize plating parameters, mandrel preparation, and material properties.
• Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure electroforming processes, and procedures meet AS9100, ISO, and ITAR standards.
  • Support quality assurance efforts by implementing robust process controls and collaborating with the Quality Department to address non-conformance issues.
• New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts by ensuring manufacturability of new electroformed components.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical design, manufacturing process development, and electroforming or precision metal manufacturing.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Familiarity with electroforming, plating, or additive metal deposition processes is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  Experience with ITAR, Nadcap, AS9100 and ISO quality standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to engineering challenges.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.

Engineering Technician – Electroforming

Position Summary

The Engineering Technician – Electroforming supports the engineering and production teams in the development, setup, monitoring, and continuous improvement of electroforming processes used to manufacture precision metal components for aerospace and defense applications. This role combines hands-on technical work with process support, data collection, testing, and documentation. Reporting directly to Engineering, the technician also works closely with Quality and Operations to ensure repeatable, compliant, and high-quality electroformed products.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering and Technology Development Support

• Assist engineers with process development, trials, and qualification runs.
• Set up and prepare mandrels, tooling, prototype fixtures, and racks for electroforming builds.
• Monitor process parameters such as current density, temperature, pH, chemistry levels, and plating time.
• Record and report process data and deviations.
• Assist with stripping, part removal, and post-process handling steps.

Testing & Analysis

• Perform thickness measurements, prepare and process test coupons for basic mechanical testing.
• Support process capability studies and first article builds.
• Assist with root cause investigations related to defects, variation, or yield loss.

Documentation & Controls

• Maintain process logs, batch records, and technical worksheets.
• Update work instructions, setup sheets, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as directed.
• Support configuration control and revision updates for process documentation.

Continuous Improvement

• Participate in process improvement and yield improvement initiatives.

Equipment & Safety

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, lab, plating, or process environment preferred.
• Ability to follow detailed technical procedures and work instructions.
• Basic understanding of electrical, chemical, or materials processing concepts.
• Strong data recording and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with chemicals and wet process systems.

Required Qualifications

Position Summary

AMG is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to support quality assurance, process improvement, and compliance initiatives at our Bethel Deep Draw manufacturing facility.

This role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Program Management, and Customers to ensure product and process quality, drive corrective actions, reduce manufacturing variation, and maintain compliance with aerospace and defense quality standards.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who enjoys working directly on the manufacturing floor, analyzing data, driving improvements, and collaborating across departments to achieve quality and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Lead and support internal, customer, and third-party quality audits, including preparation, execution, and corrective action follow-up.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA/RCCA) activities related to customer complaints, internal nonconformances, supplier issues, and process failures.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Tooling teams to improve deep draw and metal forming processes, reduce scrap, improve yield, and enhance process capability.
• Review, develop, and approve inspection plans, control plans, work instructions, and quality documentation.
• Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
• Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI), process validation, and production readiness activities.
• Analyze quality metrics, trends, and performance data to identify risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support supplier quality activities, including supplier corrective actions, qualification efforts, and incoming inspection controls.
• Develop and maintain quality procedures, standards, and inspection methodologies.
• Ensure customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements are effectively translated into manufacturing and inspection controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, and operational excellence initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–6+ years of Quality Engineering experience within aerospace, defense, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations and production quality systems.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Experience leading or supporting root cause investigations and corrective action programs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
• Hands-on approach with a strong presence on the manufacturing floor.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with deep draw manufacturing, metal forming, stamping, machining, or precision manufacturing processes.
• Experience conducting or supporting customer, internal, and third-party audits.
• Knowledge of First Article Inspection (AS9102) requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with statistical analysis, process capability studies, and quality data analysis.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training and certification.
• Experience working within aerospace and defense manufacturing environments.

Position Summary

Alpha Metalcraft Group (AMG) is seeking a hands-on, results-driven Director of Continuous Improvement to lead the continuous improvement and operational excellence strategy across AMG’s manufacturing operations. This position will be based in Connecticut and will support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

The Director of Continuous Improvement will partner closely with site and executive leadership to identify and execute initiatives that improve productivity, throughput, quality, labor efficiency, capacity utilization, cost, and on-time delivery. This role will establish a disciplined, sustainable approach to continuous improvement while strengthening accountability, problem solving, standard work, and operational performance.

This leader will work directly with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and frontline employees to translate business and operational priorities into measurable improvement initiatives. The Director will be highly visible on the manufacturing floor and will play a key role in developing a culture where continuous improvement is embedded into daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

Continuous Improvement Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and lead AMG’s continuous improvement and operational excellence strategy across manufacturing operations.
• Partner with site and executive leadership to establish improvement priorities aligned with business objectives, customer requirements, and growth plans.
• Develop a structured pipeline of continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, throughput, capacity, quality, cost, labor utilization, scrap, rework, downtime, and on-time delivery.
• Establish clear objectives, accountability, timelines, and performance measures for improvement initiatives.
• Provide leadership with regular visibility into project status, operational impact, cost savings, risks, and opportunities.
• Ensure continuous improvement initiatives deliver measurable and sustainable operational and financial results.

Operational Excellence

• Strengthen AMG’s Operational Excellence system, including Tier Meetings, Daily Management, Visual Controls, Standard Work, KPI management, and structured problem solving.
• Lead Lean manufacturing initiatives utilizing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, visual management, root cause analysis, mistake-proofing, and waste elimination.
• Evaluate manufacturing workflows to identify bottlenecks, constraints, non-value-added activities, and opportunities to improve process flow.
• Establish baseline performance measures and quantify improvements, cost savings, cost avoidance, and capacity gains.
• Develop and maintain continuous improvement KPIs and reporting to measure progress and sustain results.
• Ensure improvements are standardized, documented, incorporated into daily operations, and sustained over time.

Productivity, Capacity & Cost Improvement

• Partner with Operations and Engineering to improve equipment utilization, manufacturing layout, workflow, labor efficiency, cycle time, capacity, and productivity.
• Identify opportunities to increase manufacturing capacity through process improvement, constraint removal, improved scheduling and workflow, and more effective utilization of existing resources.
• Lead initiatives focused on reducing scrap, rework, downtime, process variation, and other operational costs.
• Analyze operational and manufacturing data to identify performance trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop business cases for significant improvement initiatives and evaluate anticipated operational and financial returns.
• Support operational readiness and capacity-building initiatives associated with new programs, customer growth, and increased production requirements.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Lead cross-functional improvement projects from problem identification and root cause analysis through implementation and verification of results.
• Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, Maintenance, and other functional teams to resolve operational constraints.
• Work with Quality leadership to reduce recurring nonconformances, scrap, rework, and process variation.
• Support Engineering and Operations in evaluating equipment, tooling, manufacturing methods, layouts, and processes that improve operational performance.
• Facilitate structured problem-solving sessions and ensure corrective actions address root causes and deliver sustainable results.

Continuous Improvement Culture & Leadership Development

• Build continuous improvement capabilities throughout the organization by coaching managers, supervisors, and employees on Lean principles and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Develop leaders’ ability to identify performance gaps, determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and sustain improvements.
• Promote employee engagement and encourage shop-floor teams to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
• Establish accountability for continuous improvement as part of daily operational management rather than as stand-alone projects.
• Recognize and communicate successful improvements to reinforce engagement and continuous improvement behaviors.
• Help develop a sustainable culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement across AMG.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent progressive manufacturing leadership experience will be considered.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence, manufacturing engineering, operations, or a related discipline within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading significant Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives with measurable operational and financial results.
• Strong knowledge of Lean methodologies, structured problem solving, root cause analysis, Standard Work, 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, visual management, and waste reduction.
• Demonstrated ability to improve manufacturing KPIs such as productivity, labor efficiency, throughput, capacity utilization, scrap, rework, downtime, cycle time, and on-time delivery.
• Strong project and change management skills with the ability to lead multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and lead across functions and organizational levels.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate operational data into actionable improvement priorities.
• Excellent communication, coaching, facilitation, and leadership skills.
• Hands-on leadership style with a strong and consistent presence on the manufacturing floor.
• Ability to travel to AMG facilities as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within aerospace, defense, precision manufacturing, metal forming, machining, electroforming, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience working within AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification strongly preferred; Green Belt certification with significant demonstrated CI leadership experience will be considered.
• Experience developing or advancing a formal Operational Excellence or Continuous Improvement operating system.
• Demonstrated experience delivering significant productivity, capacity, labor-efficiency, quality, and cost-reduction improvements.
• Experience coaching manufacturing leaders and building continuous improvement capabilities across multiple departments or facilities.

The Director of Continuous Improvement will be based in Connecticut and will work closely with employees, site leadership, and executive leadership across AMG to identify opportunities, remove operational constraints, and deliver sustainable improvements in manufacturing performance. Travel to other AMG facilities will be required as business needs dictate.
