Electroforming Technician - Danbury

AMG Danbury is the leading provider of civil and defense rotorcraft composite blade leading edge abrasion strip electroforms. Additionally, their products also include turbine engine outer guide vane erosion sheaths as well as missile/rocket wing slot heat shield electroforms. 

AMG-Danbury is the largest and premiere AS9100 certified electroforming supplier with over 40,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space. 

Summary: AMG-Danbury is actively seeking a hands-on Electroforming Technician to join our team. 

The Electroforming Technician will primarily set up and maintain electroforming production equipment in the shop and participate in production activities.   

Responsibilities:

Some of typical duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Set and maintain electroforming equipment according to prints and work instructions
  • Measure, mark and mask areas to be excluded from plating as indicated in work order or drawing
  • Maintain on-going communication with co-workers and supervisors regarding projects, problems incurred, etc.
  • Assist in continuous improvement efforts to improve on-time delivery, quality, productivity elimination of waste and 6S compliance
  • Comply with all Corporate, Federal, State and Local, Quality, Environmental Health & Safety policies, regulations and standards
  • Maintain baths components
  • Perform quality work within deadlines
  • Ability to identify non-conformity
  • Foster a team environment of collaboration, respect, and continuous learning.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Manufacturing in providing production process analyses, ensuring quality standards are met 

Required Qualifications:

  • Highly motivated self-starter, ability to solve technical problems and disciplined in following established procedures
  • 1-4 years of manufacturing, or relevant experience
  • Mechanical background a plus

Finishing Technician - Danbury

Company Overview:
Alpha Metalcraft Group – Danbury, is the premier AS9100-certified electroforming supplier for both the aerospace and defense sectors. AMG-Danbury specializes in producing composite blade leading-edge abrasion strips for rotorcraft, turbine engine vane erosion sheaths, and missile/rocket wing slot heat shields. With over 40,000 sq. ft. of advanced manufacturing space, AMG-Danbury is recognized as the largest electroforming facility in the industry.

Summary: AMG-Danbury is actively seeking a hands-on Metal Finishing/Grinding Technician to join our team. 

Responsibilities:  Some of typical duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Observe & follow all safety policies and procedures in compliance with the organizational rules, while seeking continuous improvement. Responsible for his/her safety as well as that of his/her colleagues.
  • Use abrasives, sanders, air tools to grind, polish and/or finishes various sizes of primarily nickel parts to product specification.
  • Read blueprints, work orders, or machining instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences.
  • Supports all job functions by being cross trained in each area.
  • Familiarity with ISO and AS9100 standards and requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Experience in the use of power tools such as electric or pneumatic grinders, buffing wheels, stroke sanders, and other methods of metal finishing are preferred. Able to follow quality standards on a consistent basis. Attentiveness, focus, strength, and stamina are key traits needed for this process.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to read work instructions. Proficient in English
  • Ability to use measuring equipment such as verniers, calipers, dial indicator and micrometers
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work independently

Plant Manager - Commack & Pacoima

The Plant Manager is responsible for overall leadership of the Pacoima (80 employees) and Commack (50 employees) facilities. This role oversees daily operations, driving safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets while leading continuous improvement initiatives. The Plant Manager will develop high-performance teams, ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO standards, and advance AMG’s Operational Excellence roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee plant operations and production performance, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and cost goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop plant teams, foster accountability and employee engagement.

Mechanical Engineer - Danbury

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support our Electroforming Manufacturing operations at our Danbury, Connecticut facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, process optimization, and precision manufacturing. This role will focus on optimizing electroforming processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to meet the stringent demands of the Aerospace & Defense industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Optimization
    • Collaborate with production and quality teams to improve mandrel performance for repeatability, accuracy, and cost efficiency.
    • Implement best practices for mandrel maintenance, preparation, and handling to extend service life and enhance electroforming yields.
  • Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement
    • Analyze, develop, and implement process enhancements to optimize manufacturing efficiency, reduce defects, and improve electroforming cycle times.
    • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 6S, root cause analysis, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting
    • Provide hands-on engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve process and equipment-related issues in electroforming production.
    • Work closely with operators and technicians to optimize plating parameters, mandrel preparation, and material properties.
  • Quality & Compliance
    • Ensure electroforming processes, and procedures meet AS9100, ISO, and ITAR standards.
    • Support quality assurance efforts by implementing robust process controls and collaborating with the Quality Department to address non-conformance issues.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI)
    • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts by ensuring manufacturability of new electroformed components.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in mechanical design, manufacturing process development, and electroforming or precision metal manufacturing.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Familiarity with electroforming, plating, or additive metal deposition processes is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
    Experience with ITAR, Nadcap, AS9100 and ISO quality standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Development: Lead the design and development of tooling and mechanical systems for deep draw manufacturing processes, ensuring that all designs meet required specifications, functionality, and quality standards.
  • Tooling Expertise: Collaborate with the tooling department to create innovative tooling solutions that support deep draw manufacturing operations. Ensure that tooling designs are optimized for manufacturability and cost-efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze, develop, and implement continuous process improvements to optimize manufacturing efficiency, enhance product quality, and reduce lead times in deep draw operations.
  • Technical Support: Provide hands-on engineering support to the production floor, troubleshooting technical issues, and working closely with operators to improve processes and machine efficiency.

Position Overview: 

The Manager of Account Management, as the primary liaison between AMG and its clients, plays a pivotal role in managing customer relationships. This leadership role has accountabilities which include developing and executing pricing strategies, negotiating contracts, managing the flow of customer orders, and facilitating coordination across production, quality, and shipping to meet customer expectations and delivery schedules. Success in this role requires strategic thinking, tactical execution, along with an entrepreneurial mindset as it involves handling complex contracts and contributing to business expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage a small team and dedicated team of customer service professionals
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the business, fostering strong relationships through clear, proactive, and timely communication.
  • Vigorously promote AMG. Actively engage with assigned customers to identify opportunities to increase the size of our portfolio and the value of our partnership.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies and their supporting business cases for inside sales quotes. Prepare and present quotation summaries for managerial approvals.
  • Manage and negotiate contracts. Ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Review purchase orders (POs), and terms & conditions to ensure alignment with company capabilities. Flow down contract requirements within the company and furnish support for interpretation of contract terms.
  • Enter and manage customer orders and forecasting, ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, part numbers, delivery dates, and specifications.
  • Track and communicate order status, lead times, and shipment schedules to manage customer expectations through customer portals and direct communication.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Production, Planning, Quality, Shipping) to proactively identify and resolve delays or issues that may impact customer satisfaction or delivery timelines.
  • Organize and lead cross-functional teams as required to resolve emerging issues with the potential to significantly impact our customers or business goals.
  • Support audits, both internal and external, ensuring compliance with the company’s contractual obligations. Conduct regular performance reviews to assess customer satisfaction and contract fulfillment.
  • Maintain records of customer forecasts and order activity to ensure accurate planning and forecasting.
  • Oversee the documentation and management of change orders, amendments, and variations to the original contracts, ensuring proper tracking and communication to all stakeholders.
  • Generate sales, performance, and operational reports to support internal reviews and customer performance evaluations.
  • Actively participate in internal initiatives to drive continuous improvements in customer experience, order processing efficiency, and service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years in account management, sales, demand management, program management, or customer support, in a manufacturing environment, preferably directly in the aerospace/defense industry.
  • Financial acumen sufficient to develop quoting models and pricing strategies aligned with AMG financial objectives.
  • Experience interpreting and managing customer contracts in accordance with the UCC and U.S. FARs and DFARs.
  • Experience with ERP systems is required. Direct experience with Epicor is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Strong self-starter mindset, independent thinker, and highly organized. Ability to manage multiple priorities and proactively address challenges.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and Government (FAR/DFAR) contracting. Direct experience with the preparation and audit support of certified cost or pricing data per 48 CFR §15.403 is a plus.
  • Due to the nature of the work performed at AMG, applicants must be a U.S. Person.
  • Ability to travel on occasion for customer meetings as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or an adjacent field with direct experience matching the below.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 3+ years of direct program or project management experience within an aerospace, defense, or space parts manufacturing environment.
  • Strong desire to lead by example and act as a change agent within the organization.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex, transformational programs.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing structured program-management processes within an organization.

Position Overvew: 

The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting and executing daily Quality Assurance activities to ensure compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards. This role focuses on inspection, documentation, and quality system support to maintain compliance with AS9100 and AS13100 requirements while driving continuous improvement across production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of product to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 and AS13100 standards.
  • Assist with First Article Inspections (FAIs) and preparation of associated documentation.
  • Participate in internal audits and support external customer, AS9100, and NADCAP audits as required.
  • Review and verify inspection records, certifications, and quality documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Utilize root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, FMEA, corrective action methodologies) to support nonconformance investigations and corrective actions.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to identify quality issues, support process improvements, and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Support calibration activities and maintain inspection equipment records.
  • Assist with supplier quality activities, including document review and vendor certification support.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.
  • Maintain compliance with ITAR and all applicable customer and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality environment.
    Working knowledge of AS9100 and | or AS13100 Quality Management Systems standards.
  • Experience with mechanical drawings, GD&T, and inspection methods.
  • Familiarity with root cause and corrective action tools (5 Whys, FMEA, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
  • Must be able to perform detailed visual inspections using microscopes and other magnification tools.
  • Legal Requirement: Must be a U.S. citizen or Lawful permanent resident to comply with ITAR set regulations and access controlled technical data.
