Alpha Metalcraft announced Alec Searle will become the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the Connecticut-based manufacturer of high precision components for the aerospace, defense and medical industries. Searle joined Alpha Metalcraft on Sept. 1.

Searle brings to Alpha Metalcraft more than two decades of experience in the aerospace and defense industry. Alpha Metalcraft Group’s business units include GAR Electroforming of Danbury, Conn., Connecticut Coining of Bethel, Conn. and Gasser of Commack, N.Y.

As President and CEO for Alpha Metalcraft, Searle will be responsible for the current and growing platform of the three business units, providing strategic guidance, leadership and management to the existing platform and helping to grow the business through strategic acquisitions.

“Alec is the right leader for the Alpha Metalcraft portfolio,” said Gary Schuster, Alpha Metalcraft Chairman. “Alec’s extensive aerospace and defense manufacturing background combined with his senior leadership skills will help further strengthen and grow the Alpha Metalcraft portfolio.”

“I’m excited and honored to lead the Alpha Metalcraft team,” said Alec Searle.  “I was attracted to Alpha Metalcraft because of the unparalleled range of manufacturing capabilities and the strong desire of the team to partner long term with customers.  I look forward to working both internally and externally to strengthen and grow our capabilities and to be the partner of choice for the products we provide.”

Before joining Paradigm, Searle worked at Triumph Group (formerly Goodrich, TRW  and Lucas Aerospace) for 24 years, gaining extensive experience in a variety of OEM and Aftermarket Operational and Business Development roles. He rose to the position of Operating Company President of Triumph Electronics and Controls, a business focused on high IP technology defense aerospace products. Searle earned his Chartered Engineer certification from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Masters of Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing & Management from Birmingham University in England.

Alpha Metalcraft Group’s divisions include GAR Electroforming, which is the nation’s largest and most established full-service AS9100 certified electroform manufacturer; Connecticut Coining, a leading manufacturer of deep-drawn metal parts that are used in aerospace, defense and medical industries; and Gasser, which has been in business for more than a century and is the world’s leading producer of x-ray housings.
